Bring Your Own Projects and Sew Together
For those who enjoy sewing in a relaxed and social setting, the Australian Sewing Guild – Gather to Sew group offers a welcoming space to bring projects to life.
Meeting monthly at the Artisans’ Guild in Burpengary, this friendly group brings together people with a shared interest in sewing—whether they are just starting out or have years of experience behind them. The focus is simple: bring along a project, settle in, and enjoy a day of creating alongside others.
Rather than structured classes, sessions are centred around participants working on their own sewing projects. This allows individuals to progress at their own pace while benefiting from shared knowledge, conversation, and practical support from fellow sewists. It’s a space where ideas are exchanged, questions are answered, and small challenges are worked through together.
Participants bring their own sewing machines and materials, with shared equipment such as irons, ironing boards, and extension leads available on the day. The environment is informal and community-focused, making it easy to feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
The group meets on the third Saturday of each month and welcomes all skill levels. After initial visits, participants are invited to join both the Australian Sewing Guild and the Artisans’ Guild for insurance purposes, helping ensure a safe and supported environment for everyone involved.
More than just a sewing group, Gather to Sew offers time, space, and connection—bringing people together through a shared love of making and creating.
