CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING – CABOOLTURE SQUARE SHOPPING CENTRE 2021
In response to the great support from our friends at Caboolture Square Shopping Centre, a few of our dedicated members have volunteered to conduct a gift-wrapping service in the main mall area of the Shopping Centre. This Centre provides us with the King Street Craft Shop and sites for our art and craft stalls during the year. This is a chance for a few of us to convey our appreciation and show it is not all take and no give.

MORNING TEA VISIT FROM SEASONS – KALLANGUR 23/11/21
We had a visit yesterday from the good folks of Seasons Kallangur. Thank you to our loyal band of members who provided an excellent morning tea, gave our guests an enjoyable and memorable visit, and promoted our facilities. Congratulations to June – our raffle winner.
BOOK LAUNCH
Book Launch. Sunday 7th November. On behalf of Vandra and myself, we wish to extend our sincere thanks to the Artisans’ Guild and the members who attended and helped make this a successful event. In the past, I have attended many launches and they can be risky ventures which can easily fall flat. ARTISANS’ GUILD HOLD SPECIAL MORNING TEA FOR RETIRING SECRETARY – MARIE BROWNING
This morning the Guild held a special morning tea in recognition of long-term secretary Marie Browning’s outstanding twelve years of service in this demanding and critical role. Thanks to all the members who attended to honour this lovely lady and provide food (doggie bags were in demand!). Thanks, Marie you are a legend.

MORNING TEA – CABOOLTURE VIEW CLUB Thurs 2/9/2021
The Guild was privileged to host a morning tea for the Caboolture View Club Thursday morning. This group is comprised of very caring, lovely people who are a valued part of The Smith Family actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for this vital Organisation. Our guests were invited to enjoy the art and craftwork on display as well as the extensive array of food and drinks provided by our Members.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped make this such a wonderful and pleasant event. The huge variety and abundance of food made ‘doggie’ bags popular. Well done to all.
Greta has contributed her time for decades to the craft working together group. She has helped many people achieve their goals and acted as a taxi for people who don’t have transport. A dedicated worker, she has given total commitment to serve the Artisans Guild of Caboolture and District. (Posted by Terry Young MP)
A WEE PIECE OF SCOTLAND AT THE GALLERY – FRIDAY 4TH JUNE
Visitors to the Gallery on Friday were treated to a wee piece of Scotland. Our ‘artist of the month’ Mary O’Brien hosted a morning tea plus a very enjoyable bagpipe performance. A lovely touch Mary – well done.
TUESDAY’S PROBUS CLUB VISIT AND MORNING TEA – 1st June 2021
Thank you to members who contributed to Tuesday’s Probus Club visit and morning tea. The amount of food provided, and valuable assistance was greatly appreciated. We encourage our members to keep supporting these events, for it’s our member’s input that enables the Guild to be successful and grow. It was a wonderful day, so again, thanks to all for a job well done.

A huge congratulations to our talented ‘Thursday Painters’ for winning the Bunnings Easter Art Competition. A truly group effort with each member contributing and creating an imaginative, quirky piece. It is essential all entry forms are delivered to the Gallery (Cnr Old Bay & Maitland Roads – Burpengary East) by this date so administration work associated with the Exhibition can be completed in time for opening.
Please note it is not necessary for your paintings and craft items – just your entry forms by the 9th. As you will still have two weeks to complete your works.

ATTENTION MEMBERS – LATEST REOPENING UPDATE
Please note both the Old Bay Road Art Gallery and Caboolture Square Craft Shop will reopen tomorrow Tuesday 12th January 2021.
However, in accordance with the Queensland Government’s latest COVID -19 rulings all visitors and staff must wear face masks. All other previous conditions such as social distancing and hand sanitising will remain in force.

OLD BAY ROAD GALLERY
Our Gallery will reopen 10AM on Tuesday 12th Jan. Members are urged to deliver their art & craft work as early as possible Tuesday morning. As you can appreciate the task of hanging paintings and setting up craft displays is a massive one. Compliance would greatly assist Art Coordinator Roy, and Craft Coordinator Mandy with the planning and implementation of these vital duties.
The Christmas Wrap has been confirmed, and will run from 12th-24th. We will need 3 people per shift, two
shifts per day, 9am to 1.00pm then 1.00pm to 5.00pm. There are no shifts on Sunday the 13th . We urgently
need our Members and friends of Members to help out.

CRAFT STALL
MORAYFIELD SHOPPING CENTRE (WOOLWORTHS END)
Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st November
8.30am to 5.30pm daily – except Thursday 8.30am to 9.00pm
All usual craft works (hand towels, quilts, baby clothes, doll clothes, toys, novelty items, rock concerts, greeting cards plus loads more) will be on display and for sale. Also included will be a selection of Christmas items. All these articles are made by hand, with an emphasis on quality and appeal.
UPDATE ON ELECTION DAY STALLS
Hi Members
Once again our Gallery will be used on the 31st October for Election Day.
If Members wish to have a stall on the day, selling either new or used items,
please contact Lorraine Magowen Ph 5499 3531 by Wednesday the 28th October. To reserve
your stall the cost is $5,00 and will mostly be on the front verandah. (if you need a table let Lorraine
know when booking your stall.)
Parking will be behind the Gallery for those having a stall, as the front will be required for voting public.
Importantly set up by 7.30 am, a bright early start. We hope to have a sausage sizzle and cake stall
organised on the day, it will be a great opportunity to sell your Art of Craft.

It was lovely to welcome Shirley & Graham Robinson when they dropped in for a visit at the Gallery today, They are back in town for a short time, Shirley is a past President of the Artisans Guild and she and Graham were very hard workers during their time with the Guild. So nice to have old friends visit.

The result is, as usual, a stunning display of the diverse works from our talented members. We had a tremendous roll -up yesterday for the Guild’s AGM. President Lorraine gave an informative and up-beat report of the past twelve months, plus the impact of COVID-19 on the Guild’s operations. The new committee was voted in and retiring Committee members Greta, Vandra and Patron Greg Chippendale were duly thanked for their contributions. GALLERY RE-OPENING
We have much pleasure in announcing our Art & Craft Gallery – cnr Old Bay Road and Maitland Street, Burpengary East has reopened from 13th July 2020. Obviously COVID – 19 restrictions will apply, but our Gallery is spacious and capable of providing a safe, clean environment for visitors to enjoy the range of artwork and craft on display.

The Guild Craft Shop – King Street Caboolture, opening times are 9 AM to 1.30 PM Wed, Thur & Fri. These will be reviewed according to COVID-19 changes.
A new mosaic sign has now been installed on the building so people passing can see what the building is used for.
