Adventure And Storytelling Through Image And Imagination
Peter Bashaw is a Toorbul-based artist whose creative journey began in Grade 5 and has continued throughout his life. Working across illustration and photography, his style is shaped by a love of adventurous storytelling, drawing inspiration from movies, comic books and imaginative visual themes.
Over the years, Peter has worked professionally as an illustrator for businesses, magazines and automotive posters, building a broad range of creative experience while continuing to develop his own artistic voice. His first artwork sale took place at a high school exhibition, an early milestone that encouraged him to keep creating and exploring new ideas.
Peter sees art as a personal and spiritual journey, with each piece reflecting imagination, curiosity and storytelling. He enjoys creating work that captures movement, atmosphere and narrative, allowing viewers to interpret their own meaning within the image.
The Old Fire Station Gallery has also played an important role in encouraging Peter’s involvement in local creative projects and the wider arts community. Today, he continues to work on illustrations and photographic projects that reflect his ongoing interest in visual storytelling and creative exploration.
