Traditional Landscapes And Stories Through Paint
Marie Browning is a Toorbul-based artist whose work reflects a lifelong connection to creativity and storytelling. Working across oils, acrylics, pastels and drawing, she creates traditional-style artworks inspired by landscapes, seascapes, portraits and memories from past travels.
Marie has been creating art on and off since the 1960s and has exhibited her work in Brisbane and other venues over the years. Her approach is guided largely by mood and observation, with inspiration often coming from everyday life, places she has visited, and personal experiences.
Art has remained an important part of Marie’s life through both good times and challenging periods, bringing her a strong sense of satisfaction and purpose. She particularly enjoys creating works that tell stories and capture moments connected to travel and memory.
Currently, Marie is focusing on storytelling pieces inspired by her past journeys, continuing to explore subjects that hold personal meaning while sharing them through a traditional artistic approach.
