Machine Embroidery Group

Machine Embroidery Group

Each month, the Artisans’ Guild Gallery in Burpengary East comes alive with the gentle hum of sewing machines as the Machine Embroidery Group gathers to create, learn, and share ideas.

This welcoming group brings together makers with a shared interest in machine embroidery, offering a relaxed and supportive environment for exploring both creative and practical techniques. Open to all skill levels, it provides a space where beginners can learn the basics while more experienced members continue to refine and expand their skills.

Led by Gayle Wallace, sessions focus on learning through doing. Participants bring along their own machines, materials, and ideas, working on projects that suit their individual interests. Some arrive with a clear plan, while others take the opportunity to experiment and discover new techniques.

The group encourages creativity across a wide range of applications, from decorative textile work through to functional sewn pieces. Members regularly share tips, demonstrate processes, and support one another, creating a collaborative environment where confidence can grow over time.

Meeting on the third Wednesday of each month, the group offers a consistent and accessible way to build skills while connecting with others who enjoy working with textiles.

More than just a place to learn machine embroidery, it’s a space where ideas are exchanged, creativity is encouraged, and skills develop naturally through shared experience.
