Impressions of Landscape, Wildlife and Changing Environments
Jo-Ann Middlebrough is a Narangba-based artist who works across a variety of media, including pastel, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. Her work reflects an impressionistic response to the world around her, with a strong focus on the Australian landscape and its people.
Since beginning her artistic journey in 2014, Jo-Ann has developed a thoughtful approach to her subject matter, drawing inspiration from the natural environment and the ways in which wildlife adapts to changing conditions. Her work often reflects an awareness of environmental change and the impact of urban growth creating habitat loss.
Jo-Ann enjoys painting en plein air and has travelled to locations such as Uluru, the MacDonnell Ranges, Alice Springs and the Flinders Ranges to capture the vibrant colours and atmosphere of these regions. These experiences continue to influence her work and deepen her connection to the Australian landscape.
She regularly exhibits and sells her work at galleries and shows throughout the Moreton Bay Region and is an active member of several art societies. Jo-Ann also looks forward to continuing her practice through group painting trips, including an upcoming visit to St George with fellow artists.
