Imaginative, Quirky Artworks Across Varied Mediums
Chris Edwards is a Caboolture-based artist who works across acrylics, watercolour, pencil, and occasionally oils. His work has been described as quirky, often combining real-world observation with imaginative elements that set his pieces apart from traditional landscape or still life approaches.
Chris has been creating art for as long as he can remember. While life and work have occasionally taken him in other directions, his creative practice has always remained a constant thread. His early experiences include being a finalist in a national UK school art competition, with his work exhibited in Chelsea, London, before travelling through Europe.
In his early twenties, Chris worked as a set designer and scenic artist for a theatre company, producing large-scale backdrops. He later led an illustration department for a multinational engineering company and was commissioned to design and build trade stands for a major international expo in Birmingham.
Chris draws inspiration from both what he sees and from imaginative “what if” scenarios. He enjoys portraiture and is currently working on new pieces for upcoming Guild displays, along with animal commissions and exhibition work.
He maintains a thoughtful approach to emerging technologies, viewing AI as a tool that can support artistic growth while continuing to value the skill and individuality of hand-created work.
